Report has it that some prospective JAMB candidates yesterday in Benue
State, Markurdi staged a protest at the zonal office of the examination
body located along George Akume Road, Makurdi, Benue State over what
they described as the tedious manner JAMB was taking to enrol candidates
for this year’s examination .
It was learnt that the aggrieved candidates hurled stones and shattered some of the windows of the building that serves as JAMB zonal office in the state.
Not done, they proceeded to block the road with bonfires which disrupted the free flow of vehicular traffic.
It took the intervention of policemen deployed in the area to calm the situation.
Reacting to this, the zonal coordinator, Mr Samuel Umoru, said that the applicants were not patient enough, adding that those who were patient had been registering.
