Ahead of their JAMB tests slated for later this year, a member of the House of Representatives, Abubakar Lado, has organised ICT training for 100 senior secondary students in Niger.
Participants for the
two-weeks training holding at Izom, a settlement in Gurara Local
Government, are drawn from Suleja, Gurara and Tafa Local Government
Areas.
“We are hoping that the
training will help the quest for excellence and good performance in
their external examinations, especially UTME,” Lado told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Gurara, on Thursday.
“I
initiated the training after discovering that students from my area
suffer some disadvantages when writing computer-based examinations,” he added.
Lado
further said that the secondary school students were future leaders and
needed the ICT training to be abreast of developments in the modern
world.
The federal lawmaker promised to
offer scholarships to the best among the participants, if he or she was
interested in computer education.
He also promised to provide modern learning materials that would boost the academic stance of students in his constituency.
