UEFA have fined Barcelona €19,000 for the pitch invasion by supporters which occurred following their Champions League comeback victory over Paris Saint-Germain at the Camp Nou.
Barca overturned a 4-0 first-leg deficit with an improbable 6-1 win in the return match which culminated with a Sergio Roberto goal deep into stoppage time.
The right-back’s goal sparked wild celebrations on the Camp Nou pitch,
with players, staff and fans rushing to join the players on the field in
triumph.
Included in the fine was also a sanction for “improper conduct of the team” as the Blaugrana collected five yellow cards over the course of the match.
Additionally, UEFA announced a fine of €38,000 to Napoli for their fans’
conduct during the second-leg Champions League home tie against Real
Madrid.
The Serie A club had been charged with fans’ use of a laser pointer,
blocking stairways, throwing objects and setting off fireworks during
Napoli’s 3-1 loss to the La Liga side.
