NYSC DG To Corps Members: You’re Not Immune To Prosecution. The Director General, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Sule Kazaure, has warned corps members participating in Saturday’s governorship election in Anambra State to discharge their duties according to the law.
Kazaure said they were not immune to prosecution for electoral malpractice, warning that any disobedience to the laws of the election would be severely dealt with.
The D-G, who gave the warning in Awka while addressing some corps members ahead of the exercise, said they were chosen based on their expected neutrality and non-partisanship.
The NYSC boss, who was represented by the Director of Corps Welfare and Inspectorate, Rosemary Okonghae, urged them to be sensitive to their environment and discharge their duties with all fairness.
Over 8,000 corps members were employed for election duty in the state on ad hoc basis largely for the positions of presiding officers and assistant presiding officers.
